{"id":244,"date":"2026-06-09T09:45:28","date_gmt":"2026-06-09T07:45:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hayat.dk\/en\/?p=244"},"modified":"2026-06-09T09:48:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-09T07:48:18","slug":"copenhagen-invites-public-to-ride-sprint-route-before-elite-race","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hayat.dk\/en\/copenhagen-invites-public-to-ride-sprint-route-before-elite-race\/244\/","title":{"rendered":"Copenhagen invites public to ride sprint route before elite race"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 13 June, from 13:00 to 15:00, children, families, older people and cycling enthusiasts will be able to ride the closed 10km route through the city, just hours before professional cyclists race along the same roads.<\/p>\n<p>The event will begin at the finish line near the National Gallery of Denmark.<\/p>\n<p>The public ride celebrates Copenhagen&#8217;s strong cycling culture and gives residents and visitors the chance to take part in the atmosphere surrounding Copenhagen Sprint.<\/p>\n<p>Participants can join or leave the route at eight designated points. Music, activities and a festive finish area at \u00d8sterport will also be part of the celebrations.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Public ride facts<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What: Free public cycling event on a closed 10 km route through Copenhagen<\/li>\n<li>When: 13 June, 13:00\u201315:00<\/li>\n<li>Where: Start and finish at the National Gallery of Denmark<\/li>\n<li>Route access: Eight hop-on\/hop-off points across the city<\/li>\n<li>Programme: Opening at 12:55, general start at 13:30, senior start at 14:00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Celebrating Copenhagen&#8217;s cycling culture<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;I am really looking forward to getting on my bike and experiencing the car-free route through Copenhagen,&#8221; said Sisse Marie Welling, Lord Mayor of Copenhagen.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I hope many Copenhageners and visitors will join us.
